Welcome to The Wallace Medical Concern (WMC)! We provide urgent care for thousands of uninsured and underinsured people in Portland and Gresham, through the work and dedication of over 300 volunteers, 10 staff members, and a board representing health care leadership in this region.
We maintain two volunteer-based clinics, as well as a Mobile Medical Clinic with physician and nursing staff. Our services include basic urgent care, including screenings and referrals for hypertension and diabetes, and treatment for infections, as well some limited specialty and preventive services, such as dermatology, podiatry and chiropractic care (by appointment only).

Beethoven and Friends Strike High Notes for WMC May 22
Soak up the strains of some beautiful music and show your support for Wallace! What better way to spend a spring evening? Please join us for a benefit recital on Tuesday, May 22 at 8:00 p.m. in downtown Portland's historic Old Church (1422 SW 11th Avenue).
Violinist Dr. Chris Greenman will perform sonatas by Beethoven, Corigliano and Strauss, accompanied by pianist Cary Lewis. The concert is free - but contributions to WMC will be enthusiastically accepted! Visit this event's Facebook page.
History and Mission
WMC was founded in 1984 by Dr. James Reuler, a physician with the Veteran's Administration, and made possible by a bequest from local businessman, Edwin B. Wallace. Based on a mission and belief that everyone deserves quality health care, The Wallace Medical Concern is a volunteer organization providing neighborhood-based, urgent health care services and assistance to Portland and Gresham residents who face barriers to care. We also play an increasingly critical role as a gateway to the larger health care system.

Through our online donation system, you can have a direct impact on the lives of thousands of men, women and children who need care. Our ability to provide them with access to medical services is reliant on your generosity, and the commitment of our volunteers who donate their time, money and expertise. This support enabled us to provide over 4,000 patient visits this past year and the demand only continues to grow.
