Breaking News! WMC To Become Federally Qualified Health Center
We are thrilled to announce that The Wallace Medical Concern will be one of the metro area's newest Federally Qualified Health Centers (FQHC).
“This news is beyond exciting,” said Executive Director Lisa Cline, “and so timely for our community. We’ll be moving forward quickly to become a full service health home for our patients. Look for us to be ramped up and ready to go by mid-September.”
What does it mean to be an FQHC? This prestigious federal designation is awarded to community health centers that provide a full scope of high quality health services to low-income, underserved, and uninsured individuals, regardless of ability to pay. As an FQHC, Wallace will offer primary and preventive health care, as well as our continuing urgent care services. We’ll also provide lab, dental and mental health services, conveniently located, culturally-appropriate and tailored to each patient’s needs.
“We are so grateful to our volunteers, donors, partners and friends for helping us to reach this significant milestone,” said Cline. “It’s a huge vote of confidence in Wallace and the impact we can have on quality of life for our neighbors in Rockwood and the surrounding community.”
